Half Day Blues
At the conclusion of the first marking period, my school district holds report card conferences for parents. Students have a half day of school, and parents are invited to meet with teachers at school between 1pm and 3pm. Conferences took place yesterday afternoon and will continue today. My students' parents are so involved that yesterday, I met with a grand total of.........

Zero is pretty bad. If I had to guess though I would say most people are at work during the day. I would say less than a quarter of the parents probably could make it even if they cared. When I was a kid parent teacher conferences took place in the evening. Anyway, if you had 100 students I think you should be happy if you get 10- 15 parents with those kind of hours. Goodluck.
